Sitamarhi : A section of Ma Janaki cult (Goddess Sita) followers has taken strong exception to the recent controversial remarks allegedly given by Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) chief and former junior Union Minister Upendra Kushwaha on the Goddess in an election related debate.
They gathered on Sitamarhi’s historic Janaki temple premises under the leadership of Mahanths and lashed out at Kushwaha for wooing voters through such harsh rhetoric and said he will not be allowed to visit this religious town. They also drew the attention of the Election commission of India towards Kushwaha’s alleged remarks. The RLSP is one of the constituent of the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) in Bihar and Kushwaha is contesting the Lok Sabha polls from Karakat and Ujiyarpur parliamentary constituencies (PCs).
Meanwhile, an advocate and independent candidate from Sitamarhi parliamentary constituency Thakur Chandan Kumar Singh on April 26, 2019, lodged a complaint case against Kushwaha in the CJM court, Sitamarhi, in this connection.
