New Delhi : A well marked Low Pressure Area lies over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of South Andaman Sea and Equatorial Indian Ocean with associated cyclonic circulation extending up to mid tropospheric levels. It is very likely to concentrate into a Depression during next 36 hours and likely to intensify further thereafter. It is likely to move westnorthwestwards and reach near south Tamil Nadu coast around December 2, 2020, according to the National Weather Forecasting Centreof the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Under the influence of the above system:
- Scattered to widespread rainfall activity very likely over Tamilnadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe, Lakshadweep, south coastal Andhra Pradesh and south Rayalaseema during 01st-03rd December 1 to 3, 2020.
- Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall with moderate thunderstorm and lightning very likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during December 1 to 3, 2020, and isolated extremely rainfall likely over south Tamilnadu and south Kerala on December 2, 2020. Isolated heavy falls with moderate thunderstorm and lightning also very likely over south Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalseema, and Lakshadweep area during December 2 & 3, 2020.
- Fishermen are advised not to venture into Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Andaman Sea on November 29, 2020; over central parts of South Bay of Bengal on November 30; over Southwest Bay of Bengal, Gulf of Mannar, Comorin area, along and off Tamilnadu-Kerala coasts on December 1 & 2, 2020, and over Lakshadweep-Maldives areas and Southeast Arabian Sea on December 2 & 3, 2020.
