Patna : World No 39 Loh Kean Yew, 24, Singapore, won the men’s single title at Hylo Open 2021, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 500 badminton tournament, at Saarbrucken, Germany, on November 7, 2021, after 2nd seed Lee Zii Jia, 23, Malasia, retired in the third game trailing 12-17.
Yew had lost the game 19-21. But, bounced back to win the second game 21-13 and was leading 17-12 when World No 8 Lee retired. The match lasted 64 minutes.
