Ara: Due to lackadaisical approach of the Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), teaching of LLM has not started so far in the university despite completion of all formalities years ago.

At present B.Ed courses are running at Maharaja Law College, Ara, Jaketi Law College, Buxar, and Rohtas Law College, Sasaram, under the VKSU and altogether 740 students (320 from Ara centre, 240 from Buxar centre and 180 from Rohtas centre) are pursuing the course at these three B.Ed colleges and pass every year but have no facility for LLM. They are forced to go outside old Shahabad for studying in LLM.

Principal, Maharaja Law College, Shekhar Kumar said that under mounting pressure of students the university administration had formed two committees to start LLM at the college and the committees submitted their positive reports years ago but the reports are gathering dust. He himself reminded the Vice-Chancellors of the VKSU several times but to no avail. He said that the Senate, Syndicate and the Academic Council of the university had also approved start of LLM course at Maharaja Law College.

VC, VKSU, Leela Chand Sah said that the university administration was trying to start LLM course at Maharaja Law College and would send documents and papers to the office of the Chancellor cum Governor. He said as the Chancellor office gives its nod, LLM course would be started.

The VC said that after publication of BA Part III results, the students would have to apply online for admission to PG classes of the university through the university website. After applying, they should take out a printout of their application, paste a passport size photograph and submit it along with all relevant documents and papers duly signed and filled up to the respective PG department of university. The university would prepare a merit list on the basis of online applications. He said online admission to PG classes was started in colleges under the VKSU but from this year, the VKSU has also started online admission to the PG department.

He also said that a joint entrance test would be conducted for admission to B.Ed classes either affiliated to university or the education department of the university from this year. The students have to apply online. They should download forms from the university website and submit them along with relevant papers and documents duly singed and filled up to the education department of the university and to the education department of S P Jain College Sasaram. He said altogether 12 private B.Ed colleges are running under the VKSU and the university has opened units of education department on the campus of the university and S P Jain College, Sasaram.

The VC said that the Education Minister, Ashok Kumar Chaudhary would inaugurate new building of B.Ed class of the university at zero mile on June 12. After inauguration, the long standing demand of the students would be fulfilled and the B.Ed class would be started in new building. Till now, it was running on the campus of VKSU.

The VC said that he received complaints that teachers are demanding money from students in the name of practical examination. He warned them not to do so otherwise action would be taken.
