Liquor smuggler killed in accident in Patna, 96 bottles of IMFL seized

Patna : A liquor smuggler was killed and another injured when the Scorpio in which they were carrying huge quantity of foreign liquor rammed a tree at Kanpa bazaar on NH 98 under Ranitalab police station in Patna district at 5 am on April 14, 2017. The deceased was identified as Mannu alias Bitthal while the injured was identified as Minto Yadav.

SHO, Ranitalab police station, Prabhat Kumar Sharan, said that although the Scorpio was carrying huge quantity of foreign liquor, only 96 bottles of IMFL were found intact as a large number of liquor bottles were damaged in the accident. The SHO said that the liquor smugglers were not the owners of the Scorpio and police were trying to identify its owner through its engine and chassis numbers as the car was apparently bearing a fake registration number.
