Giridih : Two teenage boys died after lightening struck them in a muddy field at village Pandnakala under Birni block in Giridih district in Jharkhand on Friday evening.The deceased were identified as Rajesh Paswan, 18, son of Heeralal Paswan, and his cousin Pankaj Paswan, 13, one of the sons Ramchandra Paswan, of Pandnakala village. According to the eyewitnesses, the incident occurred around 4: 30 pm when the two brothers were engaged in farming activiteis in the muddy field.
“In spite of heavy rain they continued their work as they wanted to finish their work by Friday evening. Meanwhile, they were struck by lightenings. The duo succumbed their injuries on the spot,” said Bablu Paswan, who was also working, about 12 – 15 metres away in the same filed.
Immediately after getting information, Birni BDO visited the place of occurrence and looked into the matter. “We can’t ascertain anything as our inquiry is is still on.. The eyewitnesses said that they died due to lighteining in the paddy filed,” the BDO said..
