Patna : World No 27 Lee Cheuk Yiu, 23, Hong Kong, shocked World No 8 Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, 23, Indonesia, in the final to win the men’s singles title at Yonex-Sunrise Hong Kong Open at Hong Kong on November 17, 2019, evening. Yiu upsetĀ  Ginting, the 8th seed, 16-21, 21-10, 22-20 in 77 minutes battling back from one game down in the final at Hong Kong Coliseum, Hong Kong, to win his second career title.

Yiu won 59 rallies in the match to 51 by Ginting. He won 7 consecutive points in the match to 5 by the Indonesian, who had defeated reigning Asian Games Champion and World No 6 Jonatan Christies, 22, Indonesia, in semi-finals. Yiu and Ginting are now locked 1-1 Head to Head.

Yiu had defeated Kidambi Srikanth, India, in semi-finals and 2017 World Champion and World No 5 Viktor Axelsen, Denmark, in QFs..
