Gopalganj : In a sensational incident, Rajesh Pandey, a practicing lawyer at Gopalganj Civil Court, was shot dead by three motorcycle borne criminals on December 7, 2021, morning, near Pokharvinda on Kuchaikot- Gopalganj road when he was en route Gopalganj Civil Court on his bike with his junior advocate Jitendra Chaubey. Police sent the body to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital for postmortem.
Uday Shankar Shrivastav, a senior advocate at Gopalganj Civil Court, said that Rajesh Pandey was coming from his home with his junior Jitendra Chaubey on his motorcycle and as he was approaching village Pokharvinda under Kuchaikot police station (PS) three unidentified criminals riding a bike overtook him and fired on Pandey and escaped. The bullets hit Pandey and he died before reaching the hospital at Gopalganj.Police are yet o ascertain the reason behind the murder. Rajseh Pandey was a resident of Kuchaikot Bazaar.
Uday Shankar Shrivastav, Advocate, said the Bar Association of Gopalganj Civil Court, strongly condemned the gruesome broad daylight murder of Rajesh Pandey and boycotted the court work to protest the incident. He said this was the fourth murder of an advocate in last six years in Gopalganj District in North Bihar. The advocate association has demanded immediate arrest of criminals involved in the murder of Rajesh Pandey failing which the lawyers will proceed on strike.
