Patna : RJD chief Lalu Prasad on November 10, 2017, dropped hints that his younger son Tejaswi Yadav could be the party’s face in the next assembly election in Bihar.

When his attention was drawn to State RJD President Ramchandra Pubey’s recent comment that Tejaswi Yadav would be the party’s chief ministerial candidate in the next assembly polls, Lalu said Tejashwi is way ahead of all of us in terms of leadership ability and oratory. Tejaswi Yadav, 28, was Deputy Chief Minister in the Grand Alliance government headed by JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar. Tejaswi is now Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly.

RJD vice-president and former Union Minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, however, feels that good leadership should be allowed to emerge before the state goes to the polls. The elections are far away and the party will take a decision over the issue at an appropriate time, he said.

Reacting to Lalu’s statement, State BJP president Nityanand Rai, MP, said that it was an endorsement of dynasty rule which the people will never accept.
