Ara : Lakhs of devotees from different parts of India and abroad including USA, Canada, Australia, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan will offer oblation at 1,032 yajna mandap during 11 days of the Sri Ramanujacharya Sahastrabdi Mahotsava Sahastra Mahayajna cum Akhil Bharatiya Dharm Sammelan  organized to mark the 1,000th birth anniversary of Jagadguru Sri 1008 Sri Ramanujacharya Swamina at Chandawa, 3 km west to Ara, the headquarters of Bhojpur district. The place has now tuned into a “Yajna City”.  It commenced on September 25, 2017, and conclude on October 5, 2017.

Over 25,000 quintals of ‘Yagya Saamgri’ and about 10 lakh quintals of wood will be used in the Yajna. About 25,000 volunteers including women have been deputed at the Yajna site to regulate the crowd and also to falicitate the devotees. At least 1,000 lavatories separately for men and women have been constructed. Elaborate arrangements for the drinking water have been made. Thirty submersible pumps have been bored and over 5,000 water taps have also been fixed at different points.

At least 1,032 Yagya Mandaps have been made covering an area of about 6 km and over 7,224 priests and Yajmans will perform yajna. Krishna Chandra Thakur will deliver sermon on Sri Madbhagwat while Jagadguru Ram Bhadracharya from Chitrakut on Valmiki Ramayan, and Shyam Sundar Parashar from Vrindawan on Sri Ramcharit Manas during the yajna period. `Jalbhari’ will start on September 30, 2017, and 1.25 lakh men and women with ‘kalash’ on their heads will start from Badaka Gaon and passing through Gangi, Majhaua, Maruti Nagar, Bind Toli, Gausganj, Mirganj, Dharahara Bus stand reach Chandawa. After completion of Kalash Yatra, Havan will start.
