Ara : A labourer was allegedly beaten to death and later thrown into into a pond at village Dev under Sikarhatta police station (PS) in Bhojpur District in South Bihar on May 17, 2021, late evening, after he demanded his wages.
Police recovered the body and brought it over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem on May 18, 2021. A named FIR was lodged with Sikarhatta PS against one Pintu Sah in this connection. Police arrested Pintu Sah with the help of the villagers and are interrogating him. The deceased was identified as Binod Rajwar, 35, son of late Gaya Rajwar of Dev village.
SHO, Sikarhatta PS, quoting the FIR, said that Binod Rajwar worked in the field of Pintu Sah at village Dev. After completing the day’s work, he demanded his wagess from Pintu Sah but the latter thrashed and allegedly strangulated him to death and later drowned him in the pond of the village on May 17, 2021 evening. Police fished out the body with the help of villagers and brought it over to Ara Sadar Hospital.
