KXIP defeat CSK by 4 runs at Mohali in 12th IPL match

Patna : Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) beat Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 4 runs in the 12th match of IPL this year at Punjab Cricket Association I S Bindra Stadium, Mohali, on April 15, 2018, even as CSK captain and wicketkeeper made an unbeaten 79 in 44 balls hitting 6 fours and 5 sixes.

CSK batsmen Ambati Rayudu also made 49 in 35 balls hitting 5 fours and six while Ravindra Jadeja 19 hitting one six and a four. KXIP had made 197/7 while CSK made 193/7 in 20 overs. KXIP pacer Mohit Sharma bowled a brilliant 20th over as a result  CSK captain Dhoni could hit just one six on the last ball of the over.  

CSK won the toss but opted to bowl. KXIP made 197/7 riding on a 33 ball 66 with 7 fours and 4 sixes by opener Chris Gayle and 37 in 22 balls with 7 fours by his opening partner and wicketkeeper Lokesh Rahul. Mayank Agarwal made 30 with 2 sixes and a four while Karun Nair made 29 with 2 fours and a six. KXIP captain Ravichandra Ashwin was out for 11 while Yuvraj Singh made 20 in 13 balls with 2 fours and a six.
