Patna : World No 103 Luksika Kumkhum, 25, Thailand, beat World No 165 Irina Khromacheva, 23, Russia, in a three-set thriller in the final to the WTA Mumbai Open singles title on November 4, 2018. Kumkhum defeated Khromacheva 1-6, 6-2, 6-3 in the final at Cricket Club of India, Mumbai, to win the singles title.

Kumkhum served 3 Aces in the match to 1 by Khromacheva. She committed 3 double faults to 7 by Khromacheva. He winning percentage on both her first and second serve was also much better than that of her Russian rival. Kumkhum won 5 break points to 4 by Kromacheva. Both the players won 4 games in a row in the match.

Kumkhum secured 160 WTA points by winning the singles title while runners-up Khromacheva got 95 points. Thirttwo players participated in the tournament.
