Ranchi : Four parliamentary constituencies (PCs) of Jharkhand : Kodarma, Ranchi, Khunti, and Hazaribagh, would go to polls in the 5th phase of General Elections 2019 on May 6, 2019.
Kodarma (PC No. 5), Ranchi (PC No. 8) and Hazaribagh (PC No. 14) are General seats whereas Khunti (PC No. 11) is an ST seat. As per the data sourced from CEO (Jharkhand) website, there are a total of 65,87,028 electors in the four PCs of which 34,42,266 are male electors, 31,44,679 female electors, and 83 third gender electors. There are 1,09,025 electors in the age group of 18-19 years in Phase V in Jharkhand.
The data sourced from ECI website shows that in General Election 2014, there were a total of 59,18,883 electors in these four PCs. This number has grown to 65,87,028 during General Elections 2019, an increase of 6,68,145 (11.29%) electors since last General Elections.
An interesting fact for Phase V of General Elections is that in Jharkhand, the Kodarma PC is the largest PC in terms of population (34,05,027) whereas the Khunti PC is the smallest PC in terms of population (19,86,808) as well as in terms of size of electorate (11,74,643), according to a PIB release.
