Patna : Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) scored 169/7 in 20 overs against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL 2018 Eliminator at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on May 23, 2018, night, riding on 52 in 38 ball with 4 fours and 2 sixes by captain & wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik and an unbeaten 49 in 25 ball with 3 fours and 5 sixes by allrounder Andre Russel. RR were 54/1 after 7 overs with captain and opener Ajinkya Rahane batting on 29 while his opening partner Rahul Tripathi fell to spinner Piyush Chawla after scoring 20. Sanju Samson was batting on 4.

RR won the toss but opted to bowl. Batting first, KKR lost their first three wickets- Sunil Narine, Robin Uthappa, and Nitish Rana, for only 24 runs. The wicket of opener Chris Lynn, the fourth wicket, fell when the score was 51. Lynn was out for 18 whie his partner Sunil Narine made 4. Uthappa and Rana made 3 each. Subham Gill and Karthik were involved in a 55 run partnership for the 5th wicket. Gill fell Jofra Archer after scoring 28 hitting 3 fours and a six when the score was 106. Karthik fell to Ben Laughlin, 35, Australia, when the score was 136.

For RR, Krishnappa Gowtham, Ben Laughlin, and Jofra Archer took two wickets each while Shreyas Gopal took one wicket.
