Kin, supporters of 2 accused attack cops at Sadar Hospital, Ara, free them

Ara : Family members and acquaintances of two named accused in a criminal case scuffled with police on the campus of Sadar Hospital, Ara,  under Ara Town police station in Bhojpur district, on November 26, 2018, late evening,  when they tried to arrest him and got the accused freed from the cops and took away the key of  police vehicle.

The accused was undergoing treatment at the Sadar Hospital. They also raised slogans against the doctors of the hospital alleging that the doctors release the patients without proper treatment. They also charged police with taking action in the case without thorough inquiry. Later, Superintendent, Sadar Hospital, Satish Kumar Sinha, said that the patients would not be released until they were completely cured.

Two groups had clashed and exchanged fire at a fair at village Bagar under the same police station on November 23, 2018, over eating of jalebi in which a youth Raju Paswan received bullet injury He was later admitted to a private clinic for treatment. A named FIR was lodged with Sikarhatta police station in this connection against Manish Kumar and Anup Kumar. After injuring Raju Paswan, Manish Kumar and Anup Kumar tried to escape but the villagers thrashed and injured them and later handed them over to police. Police admitted them to the Sadar Hospital.

Rita Devi, mother of the accused, said that some persons shut her sons in a room and roughed up and injured them and they were implicated in a false case under a well planed conspiracy. Even the police are torturing her sons, she alleged adding police  shooed her away when she went to the police station to lodge an FIR. She said that when she tried to interfere and pacify both the parties, she was also thrashed and the goons of another group escaped from the scene firing in the air.

SHO, Sikarhatta police station, refuted all the charges and said that an FIR was lodged even against the second group and police had gone to arrest Anup Kumar and Manish Kumar after thorough investigation. He said that police got both the accused discharge from the Sadar Hospital to produce them before the court but the family members and acquaintances attacked cops and free them.
