Gopalganj: Police on Monday recovered an abducted Patna based trader Kanishka Jaiswal alias Chotu from village Danapur under Manjha police station in Gopalganj district.

It may be mentioned here that Chotu, a resident of Rajendra Nagar, Patna, runs business of purified water of a reputed company at Hajipur in Vaishali district. He had gone to Hajipur about five days back to deposit the electricity bill of the company at Hajipur Power office. When Chotu crossed Paswan Chowk at Hajipur, a luxury car coming from behind knocked the bike on which he was riding from behind. A heated argument took place between Choto and the occupants of the four-wheeler.

Before the people could react, the occupants of the four-wheeler dragged Chotu inside the vehicle and sped away from there. When Chotu did not return home at Patna, his family members lodged a case of kidnapping at Hajipur. Even the cellphone of Chotu was found switched off.

Though the Vaishali police were investigating the case, Chotu managed to escape from the clutches of his kidnappers on August 15 when they stopped the vehicle near village Danapur under Manjha police station in Gopalganj district to urinate. He later reached the village and informed the villagers about his kidnapping. On getting information, Manjha police station SHO Ramsewak Rawat and Town police station SHO B P Alok reached village Danapur and brought the victim to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital for treatment. Gopalganj police informed their counterpart at Hajipur and a police team from Vaishali reached there at night and brought Chotu back to Hajipur.
