Bagaha: Pravesh Baitha, 7, son of Sikandar Baitha of village Fatehpur under Jogapatti police station in West Champaran district, who was kidnapped for ransom on November 27 by a gang of kidnappers which had demanded Rs 5 lakh for his safe releases, was released near Motihari railway station in East Champaran district on November 29. This followed arrest of six criminals in this connection.
West Champaran SP Vinay Kumar had constituted a special task force led by ASP Rajesh Kumar and SDPO, Bettiah, Sanjay Jha, to rescue the kidnapped child. Six persons were arrested in this connection and being interrogated by the STF. Meanwhile, the kidnappers released the boy near Motihari railway station 36 hours after his kidnapping, said SP Vinay Kumar.
