Key accused in murder of 2 Bhojpur scribes surrenders before court

Ara: Dabloo Mian, one of the main accused in the murder of two scribes at Garhani in Bhojpur district  on March 25, 2018, surrendered before Ara Civil Court on March 28, 2018, under mounting pressure of police. Later, he was forwarded to jail under judicial custody.

A speeding Scorpio dashed a two motorcycle borne journalists : Navin Nischal, a block level reporter of Hindi daily, and Vijay Singh, a magazine reporter, of village Nahasi-Bagawa  under Garhani police station, near Nahasi Mor on Ara-Sasaram main road from behind on March 25 late evening. Both the journalists died on the spot. The miscreants allegedly set ablaze the Scorpio themselves to erase evidence.

After the murder of the two scribes, Bhojpur SP Awakash Kumar, on the direction of Zonal IG Naiyyar Hasnain Khan, formed an SIT under ASP Daya Shankar Singh to probe the incident. The SIT arrested Harsu Mian, husband of former Mukhia Shaheeda Praveen, on March 26, 2018, but his son Dabloo Mian was evading arrest. A named FIR was lodged Garhani police station against Harshu Mian, his son Dabloo Mian and two others in connection with the killing of two journalist.

It may be mentioned here that the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has sought an explanation from Bihar Chief Secretary and DGP in connection with the alleged murder of the two scribes.

Navin Nishchal reportedly had a heated  exchange with Harsu Mian in the evening on March 25, 2018, and later he and his colleague Vijay were crushed to death by a Scorpio driven by Harsu Mian himself. Harsu Mian admitted his involvements in the twin murder before the SIT. Navin Nishchal is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter while Vijay Singh is survived by two sons and wife.

Bhojpur SP Awakash Kumar said there was a conspiracy behind the murder and police are still investigating the matter. He said that heavy police force have been deployed in Garhani Bazaar in view of tension prevailing in the area.

Maenwhile, Navin Nishchal’s wife Neetu Singh has demanded capital punishment to the killers.
