Muzaffarpur : Police on January 9, 2019, arrested Sujit Kumar, a key suspect in former Muzaffarpur Mayor Samir Kumar murder case. Sujit was arrested by a team of Muzaffarpur Town police station. Muzaffarpur SSP Manoj Kumar confirmed the arrest of Sujit. The main accused in the case Govind, a sharpshooter, was arrested by STF near Patna Airport on December 18, 2018.
Sujit was driving the bike when Govind shot dead former Muzaffarpur Mayor Samir Kumar and his car driver Rohit in Chandwara area under Town Police station with AK 47 on September 23, 2018, evening. Samir was returning home on his car when Govind fired on the vehicle. Sujit had escaped to Nepal after the incident. Police had on December 15, 2018, arrested a contractor Awadhesh Singh in connection with murder case.
