Patna : World No in Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings and reigning World Champion Kento Momota, 24, Japan, consolidated his position at the top of the rankings by winning the men’s singles title at Denmark Open on October 21, 2018.
Momota beat World No 4 Chou Tien Chen, 28, Taiwan, in a fierce three-game contest 22-20, 16-21, 21-15 77 minute at Odense, Demark, in the final on October 21. Both the players won 5 consecutive points each during the match. Momota won 59 rallies while Chen won 56. Momota now leads 8-2 head to head against Chen. Chen had won silver medal in the men’s singles at 2018 Asian Games at Jakarta, Indonesia.
