Kenin upsets Bencic to win WTA Mallorca Open title

Gurugram ( Haryana) : Seventh seed Sofia Kenin, 20, USA, upset third seed Belinda Bencic, 22, Switzerland, in the final to win the WTA Mallorca Open tittle at Mallorca, Spain, on June 22, 2019, late night.

World No 30 Kenin beat Bencic, the World No 13,  in a three-set thriller 6-7, 7-6, 6-4 in the final at Santa Ponsa Tennis Club, Mallorca, Spain, to lift the grass courts singles title and secure 280 points. Bencic secured 180 points. Kenin fired 6 Aces in the match to 3 by Bencic. She also won 4 games in a row in the match to 3 by Bencic. The American won 4 break points to 3 by the Swiss star.
