Ara : A speeding tractor crushed to death a scribe (katib), Ara Registry Office, near Chandi Chowk under Chandi police station in Bhojpur District on December 29, 2020, late evening. The driver escaped from the place of occurrence leaving the tractor behind.
Later, police recovered the body and brought it over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.Police also seized the tractor. The deceased was identified as Bhagwan Charan Das, 60, of Narahi village under Chandi police station in Bhojpur district.
SHO, Chandi police station, said that Bhagwan Charan Prasad worked as Katib (scribe) at Ara Registry Office. He was returning home after completing work at the office on December 29, 2020, late evening. On the way, he halted at a tea-stall at Chandi Bazaar for some time to have some refreshment. After that, he was to board a vehicle when a speeding tractor coming from opposite direction crushed him to death.
