Ranchi (Jharkhand) : Jharkhand reported second Coronavirus (COVID-19) confirmed case on April 2, 2020, with a resident of Vishnugarh (Hazaribagh) testing positive for Covid 19. This was officially announced by Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS), Ranchi, and was also confirmed by Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta on April 2 to this reporter.
As per information, the man testing COVID-19 positive  had gone to Bengal to attend a social gathering and had returned to Vishnugarh in Hazaribagh, about 165km from Ranchi, a day back from Asonsol (Bengal), with Coronavirus symptoms. He  and was rushed to RIMS where he tested positive. The district administration has cordoned off entire Vishnugarh hamlet and a medical team is camping there to  check the spread of the disease.
Three days back, a Malaysian woman, who had come to Hindpiri colony at Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand state, from Nizamuddin, New Delhi, on a religious trip, had detected Coronavirus positive.
Till date, 9,039 persons have been quarantined in Jharkhand. Talking to this reporter, Jharkhand Health Minister  Banna Gupta said that the state is doing its best to check spread of Coronavirus.
