Bokaro ( Jharkhand) : Jharkhand Governor  Draupadi Murmu on August 10, 2017, asked every  section of the society and the state government to come forward in imparting education to all the girls as without making them literate neither the society nor the country can progress and develop. The Governor was addressing a function at Kasturba Gandhi School, Jaridih, in Bokaro district, 25 km away from Bokaro Steel City.

Murmu said that the government has given a call for ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ which can’t succeed totally unless everyone cooperates in this  pious mission. She said that whenever girls get an opportunity, they have proved their mettle  and  excelled in every field of life. The only thing they need is an opportunity, the governor said.

Governor Murmu reached to Jaridih ( Bokaro) from Ranchi by road route around 11A am and was accorded a warm welcome on the school campus. The school students  presented cultural programme in her honour. On this occasion, the Governor honored the topper of Kasturba Gandhi School at matriculation examination Rinki Kumari and praised the school  students for giving excellent results.

After attending the function at school, the Governor came to Bokaro steel city where she attended a function at Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) campus office where she unveiled a statue of     Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar and gave away education materials  to 63 ITI students studying at Bokaro. The Governor later left for Ranchi in late afternoon hours after about 4 hours stay.

Besides the Governor, Bokaro Deputy Commissioner (DC) R M Ray, Bokaro SP Y S Ramesh and other senior officials of the district were present at all  the functions.
