Ranchi ( Jharkhand) : Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, 44, called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 11, 2020, in New Delhi and discussed issues pertaining to the development of his state with him. He requested the PM to give special attention to Jharkhand in the Union Budget. It was a courtesy call. Hemant returned to Ranchi the same day. He will meet PM Modi again soon.

This was Hemant Soren’s first meeting with PM Modi after formation of JMM-Congress- RJD alliance government in Jharkhand on December 29, 2019. The JMM-Congress- RJD had bagged won 47 seats in the 81-Member Jharkhand Assembly in the Jharkhand Assembly polls held recently. The JMM had won 30 seats while Congress won 16 seats. The RJD hadwon one seat .
