Bokaro ( Jharkhand) :  Promising drinking water  facilities to every Jharkhand resident including those living in  rural and forest zones, Jharkhand CM Raghubar Das on April 7, 2017, stated that his government  was committed to development of the state through honest and transparent means.

CM Das was addressing a gathering of more than 4,000 people at Petarwar high school ground, about 35km away from Bokaro steel city, after laying the foundation of  Petarwar—Kasmar  rural drinking water facility programme worth  over Rs 58.69 crore to meet drinking water need of  72,000 population of Petrawar and Kasmar blocks of Bokaro district. Das even went for Online laying of  foundation stones of Petarwar and  Nawadih Community centres and several other rural projects.

Das said that water and cleanliness drive is necessary for human beings and these two programme are on priority list  of his government for which he has asked his officials to prepare blueprint of all dams, rivers and other water bodies. He stressed on minimal use of underground water which is getting depleting very fast.

Showering praise on his officials  for working hard to make their zones open defecation free (ODF), the chief minister asked the people to cooperate in making their areas clean and ODF for which  even union government was  working round the clock. Later, the chief minister gave certificates to  more than half dozen Mukhiyas who have done commendable jobs  in their zones. The chief minister came by chopper from Ranchi around 11.45 am and stayed  at Petarwar for about 90 minutes.

Water resources minister Chadra Prakash Chowdhry, tourism minister Amar Kumar Boury , Girdih MP Ravindra Pandey, Dhanbad MP P N Singh, Gomia MLA Yogendra Mahto, Bokaro MLA Viranchi Narain, Dumri MLA Jagganath Mahto, DIG coal belt Saket Singh, Bokaro DC R M Ray and SP Y S Ramesh were prominent among those present on the occasion.
