Dhanbad ( Jharkhand) : Jharkhand CM Raghubar Das on February 22, 2018, laid the foundation for Dhanbad Press Club at Town hall. He also laid foundation of the new buildings of Deputy Commissioner Office and Block cum Circle Office, Dhanbad. CM Das said that the construction of Press Club will be completed within 18 months and Rs crore has been sanctioned for the same. Das alleged that the previous governments looted state exchequer but his government is committed to work for  the development of state.

The Jharkhand CM stressed this his government was committed to freedom of press and carrying  the values of democracy and freedom  of the fourth estate which has a responsible role to show mirror of development being carried out in the state.“ The State Government realises the effort, struggles and difficulties faced by the journalists here. We are not only fully aware of it but also want to take this opportunity to assure you that the needs of the journalists will be taken proper care of,” CM Das said.

Although Das appreciated scribes’ dedication and hard work, he also addressed the rising issue of sensationalisation of certain news. “Every journalist is bound by one mission and that was social cause but now-a-days journalism is turning into a business and newspapers often sensationalise news  which must be avoided,” Das said
