Jeweller arrested at Ara for purchasing stolen jewellery

Ara : Bhojpur police conducted raid at Sri Kanhaiya Bhushan Bhandar at Sheesh Mahal Chowk under Town police station, Ara, on August 10, 2018, in connection with theft of jewellery worth about Rs 10 lakh and arrested its owner Kanhaiya for interrogation.

SHO, Town police station, said that jewellery worth about Rs 10 lakh and two ATM cards were stolen from the house of Sushil Pandey of Hanuman Nagar locality near Dharahara under Town police station about 10 days ago and police had arrested Pankaj Yadav of Raghunathpur, Khagaria district, from behind a petrol pump at Dharahara. During interrogation, he revealed that after stealing jewellery, he sold them to Sri Kanhaiya Bhushan Bhandar. On his revelation, police conducted raids and arrested its owner Kanhaiya Kumar.

The SHO said that Pankaj Yadav lived in a rented house at Dharahara under Town police station and he had drawn lakhs of rupees from banks using ATMs of several persons in Patna, Khagaria, Ara, Birpur and other places.
