Patna : The JD (U) will attend the meeting of opposition parties to be held on July 10 or July 11, 2017, in New Delhi, indicating that JD(U) national president and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar is on an independent course of action maintaining equi-distance with both NDA and UPA and allies.

JD(U) national general secretary K C Tyagi said that the party would attend the meeting of opposition parties to select its candidate for Vice-Presidential poll to be held on August 5, 2017, provided it is invited to the meeting. The JD(U) has supported NDA nominee Ram Nath Kovind in the Presidential poll scheduled for July 17.
