Madhuban: The new executive committee of Jainagar Chamber of Commerce decided to launch a massive public agitation for the construction of NH105 at its meeting held on Thursday.
It may be mentioned here that driving on NH 105 between Darbhanga- Jainagar has been nothing short of a nightmare for more than last two decades. Perhaps the oldest metalled road of Madhubani district, it was
upgraded to NH105 when BJP MP Hukumdeo Narain Yadav occupied the position of Surface Transport minister for some time in Atal Bihari Vajpayee government. With its upgradation, its bad days began and for last several years it is in extremely bad shape .
Sporadic agitations for its improvement have so far remained unsuccessful. This time, however, the Jainagar Chamber of Commerce has taken upon itself the responsibility to unite all sections of people including
the politicians before launching a massive public agitation for its early completion. Akhileshwar Singh and Anil Bairolia, chairman and general secretary respectively of the Chamber, said that all concerned including the union and state governments, NHAI authorities and officials of Madhubani district administration are being informed about the agitation if the work does not start within fifteen days. The road is of strategic importance as Jainagar is a border town with neighbouring Nepal.
