Patna: Sleuths of Income Tax (IT) department on January 12 carried out simultaneous raids at the Sabjibagh house, Patna, an educational institution at Phulwarisharif and a lodge at Sabjibagh of former RJD MLC Anwar Ahmad also known as `kabab mantri’ during RJD rule in Bihar. His family members were present at the house when IT men reached there. The IT men were searching for documents at his house and at his institution late in the evening.

The IT sleuths also freezed 50 accounts in a private bank showing huge transaction after demonetisation. Anwar Ahmad and his associates have a great say in the bank. The bank accounts were opened after demonetisation on November 8, 2016, and soon huge amounts were deposited into them. Soon these accounts showed huge drawals as well. The IT sleuths are looking into matter from different angles.
