Isner to face Kyrgios in ATP Mexican Open SFs

Patna : World No 9 John Isner, 33, USA, the 3rd seed, edged past World No 44 John Millman, 29, Australia, in a see-saw battle to reach the semi-finals of Mexican Open, at ATP World Tour 500 points tournament played on hard court, at Acapulco, Mexico, on March 1, 2019.

Isner beat Millman, the 8th seed, 7-6, 6-7, 7-6 in 3hr 5 minutes in the quarter-finals. Isner fired 38 Aces in the match to 9 by Millman. They traded one break of service each. Both the players won three games in a row in the match. Millman, however, committed 7 double faults. Isner won 2 tie breaks while Millman won 1.

Isner won 129 points while Millamn won 116 points. Isner will face World No 72 in the semi-finals on March 2, 2019. World No 3 Alexander Zverev, 23, will face World No 64 Cameron Norrie, 2e, UK, in the other semi-finals the same day.
