Chas (Jharkhand) : Promoting leadership quality among the students, DPS Chas, Bokaro, appointed Student Council Office-Bearers from amongst  the newly elected students at the investiture ceremony on the virtual platform on December 5, 2020, for the session 2020-21.

Elected Students : Master Sreijan Sinha of Class XI & Ms Pragya Pushkar of Class XI, emerged victorious as Head Boy and Head Girl respectively. The other appointees are : Niraj Marandi (Vice Head Boy), Sifa Praveen (Vice Head Girl), Utsav Kumar Nirala (Literary Secretary), Vivek Kumar (Cultural Secretary), and Harsh Agarwal (Sports Secretary). The Head Boy and the Head Girl along with the other secretaries and post holders took the oath to abide by the school rules, follow its decorum, maintain coordination and cooperation amongst their peers, raising the high  ideals of the school.

Highlighting the importance of the Student Council, Dr Hemlata S Mohan, Chief Mentor, DPS Chas, Bokaro, Jharkhand, in her message, said, “This initiative of the school will develop stronger sense of responsibility in the students. Accountability builds a strong sense of respect and self-worth. DPS Chas believes that there’s leadership quality in every student that needs an opportunity to come to the fore. Having a student council will empower the students with the responsibility to maintain the decorum and uphold the school’s dignity. The school delivers the most exceptional lessons in self-regulation and self- discipline.”

“The entire world always craves for a good leader. The school aims to prepare future leader with good morality and  other traits. To take out the best leadership quality, the school conferred on the specific responsibilities on the deserving young talents of the school  to lead the school from the front, thereby leading the world in future, with commitment, confidence and competence,” Dr Hemlata added.

Officiating Principal P Shailaja Jayakumar congratulated the newly elected members for their new roles and bigger responsibilities ahead. She said, “The students of today are going to become the citizens of tomorrow and we believe that every student has the potential to emerge as a leader. The student council will uplift the spirit of leadership empowering them to scale greater heights of excellence.” The programme was anchored by Vivek Guptawhile the vote of thanks was given by Birendra Singh.
