Saharsa: Collection Executive of IndusInd Bank Niraj Singh, who was shot at and seriously injured by unidentified criminals on March 23, 2017, outside Axis Bank on Marufganj Road, Saharsa, for resisting their bid to loot Rs 21 lakh from him and his colleague, died on March 30, 2017, at Patna. Niraj and his colleague had gone to Axis Bank to deposit the cash.
Niraj, a native of village Bardaha in Saharsa districtcash, had foiled the bid of criminals to Rs 21 lakh despite getting injured. Earlier, the doctors at Surya Hospital, Saharsa, had removed bullet from his stomach. But, when his condition deteriorated on fifth and sixth day even the Surya hospital doctors appeared helpless and his kin and friends took him to Patna.
Saharsa SP has constituted a special team headed by SDPO Subodh Kumar Biswas to arrest the criminals involved in Niraj’s killing. Biswas said that criminals had been identified on the basis of CCTV footage. A liner Abhishekh Thakur had already been arrested and remaining criminals would be arrested within three days, SDPO Biswas said. IndusInd Bank paid the entire cost of Niraj’s treatment at Saharsa and Patna.
