New Delhi : Recoveries continued to outnumber the daily new Covid-19 cases in India for 15th consecutive day on May 28, 2021. India logged a total of 1,86,364 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, down from 2,11,298 cases the previous day, taking the tally of cases recorded so far in the country to 2,75,55,457 at 8 am on May 28, 2021. At 1.86 lakh Cases, Daily New Covid-19 Cases are lowest in last 44 days. It is less than 3 lakh Daily New Cases for 12 consecutive days.
On the other hand, a total of 2,59,459 Covid-19 patients were declared cured in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 2,48,93,410. The recovery rate (RR) of Covid-19 patients improved to 90.34% in the country on May 28 from 90.01% on May 27, 2021.
Continuing the declining trend, India’s Active Caseload further dropped to 23,43,152 cases in India on May 28 from 24,19,907 on May 27, 2021, dipping by 76,755 cases in last 24 hours, and accounted for 8.5% of the total Covid-19 cases (2,75,55,457) recorded till date in the country.
India has tested 33,90,39,861 samples so far including 20,70,508 samples on May 27, 2021. Meanwhile, a total of 20,57,20,660 people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in the country so far including 29,19,699 beneficiaries on May 27, 2021, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
The Covid-19 death toll climbed to 3,18,895 in India on May 28, 2021, with 3,660 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours. The new deaths included 884 in Maharashtra, 476 in Karnataka, 474 in Tamilnadu, 187 in Uttar Pradesh,181 in Kerala, 177 in Punjab, 148 in West Bengal, 117 in Delhi, 104 in Andhra Pradesh, 98 in Bihar, 98 in Haryana, 88 in Uttarakhand, 85 in Rajasthan, 83 in Assam, 70 in Madhya Pradesh, 69 in Chhattisgarh, 37 in J&K, 33 in Gujarat, 16 in Jharkhand, and 12 in Meghalaya. India had recorded 3,847 new deaths on May 27, 2021. The case fatality rate climbed to 1.16% in India on May 28, 2021.
