India score 256/8 in 3rd ODI against England at Leeds

Patna : India scored 256/8 in the 50 overs against England in the third ODI at Headingley, Leeds, on July 17, 2018, riding on a fluent 71 in 72 ball with 8 fours by Captain Virat Kohli, 44 in 49 ball with 7 four by opener Shikhar Dhawan, and 42 in 66 ball with 4 fours by wicketkeeper M S Dhoni. England won the toss but opted to bowl.

India lost first wickets at 13 when opener Rohit Sharma fell to pacer David Willey for 2 in 18 balls. Dhawan and Kohli than steadied the innings with a 71 run partnership for second wicket. Dhawan was run out when the score was 84.

Dinesh Karthik, who was playing in place of Lokesh Rahul who was dropped, made 21 in 22 ball with three fours. Karthik got out when the score was 125. Kohli fell to spinner Adil Rashid when the score was 156. Suresh Raina also fell to Adil Rashid when the score was 158. Allrounders Hardik Pandya and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar made 21 each. Fast bowler Shardul Thakur remained not out on 22 in 13 ball with 2 sixes. Apart from Shardul Thakur, no Indian batsman could hit a six.

For England spinner Adil Rashid took 3/49 in 10 overs while pacer David Willey took 3/40 in 9 overs. Fast bowler Mark Wood took 1/30 in 10 overs.
