Patna : India were 215/2 after 80 overs at stumps on Day 3 in their second innings in 3rd test against England at Headingley, Leeds, UK, on August 27, 2021, night, with Cheteshwar Pujara unbeaten on 91 in 180 balls with 15 fours and captain Virat Kohli batting on 45 in 94 balls hitting 6 fours. Pujara and Kohli have so far added 99 runs in their unbroken partnership for the third wicket. India, who had scored just 78 runs in their first innings, are trailing by 139 runs.
Earlier, Pujara and opener Rohit Sharma added 82 runs for the second wicket. Rohit Sharma fell to Ollie Robinson for 59 in 156 balls hitting 7 fours and 1 six, his second fifty in the series. Opener Lokesh Rahul fell to fast medium bowler Craig Overton for 8 making it 34/1. Pujara played brilliant knock on August 27, 2021. He scored at a brisk pace indicating he had returned to form. H had scored 45 in 2nd test. Rohit’s was a sedate knock.
Resuming at their overnight score of 423/8, England were all out for 432 in their first innings in the first hour of play on Day 3.
