Patna : India were all out for 202 iin 63.1 overs n their first innings in 3rd session of play on day 1 in 2nd test against South Africa (SA) at The Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg, SA, on January 3, 2022, as fast bowler Marco Jansen, 21, took 4/31 in 17 oversĀ  while fellow fast bowler Kagiso Rabada took 3/64 in 17.1 overs. Fast medium bowler Duanne Olivier took 3/64 in 17 overs.

For India, stand-in captain K L Rahul ( opener) was the top scorer with 50 runs in 133 balls with 9 fours while spinner Ravichandran Ashwin scored 46 runs in 50 balls with 6 fours. Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah remained unbeaten on 14 runs with 2 fours and a six. Bumrah hit Rabada for 2fours an d 1 six in Rabada’s 17th over, the 62nd over of the innings.

Ashwin and fast medium bowler Mohd. Shami added 28 runs for 8th wicket. Shami fell to Rabada for 9 runs. The poor run of Cheteshwar Pujara ( 3) and Aji nkya Rahane (0) continues. Virat Kohli is not playing in this test due o upper back spasm.
