New Delhi : India reported only 6,915 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, down from 8,013 cases on February 28, 2022, taking the tally of cases recorded since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country to 4,29,31,045 on March 1, 2022.

India logged 180 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours, up from 119 on February 28, 2022, taking the toll to 5,14,023 in the country on March 1, 2022, according to Union Health Ministry figure.

A total of 16,864 Covid-19 patients, on the other hand, recovered in last 24 hours in the country, up from 16,765 recoveries on February 28, 2022, taking the tally of recovered patients since the beginning of the pandemic to  4,23,24,550 on March 1, 2022. India’s recovery rate (RR) improved to 98.59% o March 1, 2022, from 98.56% on February 28, 2022.

India’s Active Caseload was 92,472 on March 1, 2022, a decline of 10,129 in last 24 hours. Active cases constituted 0.22% of the country’s total Positive Cases on March 1, 2022.

The last 24 hours saw a total of 9,01,647 sample tests being conducted in the country India has so far conducted over 76.83 Crore (76,83,82,993) sample tests. The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country was 1.11% on March 1, 2022, while the Daily Positivity rate was 0.77%.

With the administration of more than 18 lakh (18,22,513) vaccine doses in last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage  exceeded 177.70 Crore (1,77,70,25,914) as per provisional reports till 7 am on March 1, 2022.
