New Delhi : A total of 82,170 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in India during last 24 hours taking the tally to 60,74,702 at 8 am on September 28, 2020, while 74,893 patients were declared cured/discharged during the same period, a sharp decline compared to last few days.
Of the 82,170 new COVID-19 cases reported in the country till date, altogether 50,16,520 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate being 82.58%. The number of COVID patients cured till date exceeds the number of active cases by a massive margin of 40,53,880. India has tested 7,19,67,230 samples till date including 7,09,394 on September 27, 2020.
The COVID-19 toll, on the other hand, has increased to 95,542 with 1,039 new deaths being reported from different parts of the country during last 24 hours including 380 from Maharashtra, 80 from Tamilnadu, 79 from Karnataka, 43 from Delhi, 31 from Chhattisgarh, 45 from Andhra Pradesh, 77 from Uttar Pradesh, 60 from West Bengal, 40 from Punjab, 26 from MP, 21 from Kerala, 7 from J&K, and 10 from Gujarat. The Case Fatality Rate was 1.57 % in the country on September 28, 2020, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
The COVID-19 death toll break-up in India on September 28,2020, is : Maharashtra (35,571), Tamilnadu (9,313), Karnataka (8,582), Delhi (5,235), Andhra Pradesh (5,708), Uttar Pradesh (5,594), West Bengal (4,781), Gujarat (3,416), Madhya Pradesh (2,207), Rajasthan (1,441), Punjab (3,238), Telengana (1,107), J&K (1,132), Haryana (1,307), Bihar (888), Odisha (797), Jharkhand (679), Assam (655), Uttarakhand (574), Kerala (677), Chhattisgarh (848), Puducherry (513), Goa (401), Tripura (273), Chandigarh (147), Andaman & Nicobar (53), Himachal Pradesh (175), Ladakh (58), Manipur (64), Nagaland (16), Meghalaya (43), Arunachal Pradesh (14), Sikkim (33), and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (2 ).
