New Delhi : India reported 71,365 new Covid-19 cases were reported in last 24 hours, up from 67,597 cases on February 8, 2022, takin the tally of cases recorded in the country since the outbreak of the pandemic to 4,24,10,976 at 8 am on February 9, 2022.

India logged 1,217 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours, up from 1,188 on February 8, 2022,  taking the toll to 5,05,279 in the country on February 9, 2022, including 1,43,155 in Maharashtra, 39,447 in Karnataka, 37,809 in Tamilnadu, 26,010 in Delhi, 20,884 in West Bengal, and 17,495 in Punjab.

On the other hand, a total of 1,72,211 Covid-19 patients recovered in India in last 24 hours, down from 1,80,456 on February 8, 2022, taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients since the beginning of the pandemic) to 4,10,12,869 in the country on February 9, 2022. India’s recovery rate (RR) stands at 96.70%, according to Union Health Ministry figure.

India’s Active Caseload was 8,92,828 on February 9, 2022, a a huge drop of 1,02,063 in last 24 hours. Active cases constituted 2.11% of the country’s total Positive Cases on February 9.

The last 24 hours saw a total of 15,71,726 sample tests being conducted in the country. India has so far conducted over 74.46 Crore (74,46,84,750) sample tests. The ry, Weekly Positivity Rate in the country was 7.57% on February 9, 2022, while the Daily Positivity rate was 4.54%.

Meanwhile, with the administration of more than 53.61 lakh (53,61,099) vaccine doses in last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 170.87 Crore (1,70,87,06,705) as per provisional reports till 7 am on February 9, 2022.
