New Delhi : India recorded 18.870 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, up from 18,795 cases on September 28, taking the tally of cases logged so far to 3,37,16,451 cases at 8 am on September 29, 2021. The country reported less than 20,000 daily new cases for the second successive day on September 29. Less than 50,000 Daily New Cases have been reported for 94 consecutive days now.

In sharp contrast, a total of 28,178 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in India in last 24 hours, up from 26,030 recoveries on September 28, taking the tally of recovered patients to (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,29,86,180 on September 29, 202, with the recovery rate (RR) further improving to  97.83% from 97.81% on September 28, according to Union Health Ministry figure. The Recovery Rate is currently at its highest peak since March 2020.

The Active Caseload was 2,82,520 on September 29, 2021, a further drop of 9,686 cases in last 24 hours. which is the lowest in 194 days. Active cases accounted for 0.84% of the country’s total Positive Cases on September 29.

The last 24 hours saw a total of 15,04,713 sample tests being conducted in the country. India has so far conducted over 56.74 crore (56,74,50,185) cumulative tests.

The Weekly Positivity Rate at 1.82% remains less than 3% for the last 96 days now. The Daily Positivity rate was 1.25% on September 29. The daily Positivity rate has remained below 3% for last 30 days and below 5% for 113 consecutive days now.

India reported 378 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours, a massive jump from 179 deaths on September 28, taking the toll to 4,47,751 on September 29, 2021.

With the administration of 54,13,332 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 87.66 crore (87,66,63,490) as per provisional reports till 7 am on September 29, 2021.  This has been achieved through 85,33,076 sessions.
