New Delhi : India reported 15,102 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, up from 13, 405 cases on February 22, 2022, taking the tally of cases recorded since the outbreak of the pandemic to 4,28,67,031 at 8 am on February 23, 2022. India logged 278 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours, up from 235 deaths on February 22, 2022, taking the toll to 5,12,622 on February 23, 2022.

A total of 31,377 Covid-19 patients, on the other hand, recovered in last 24 hours, down from 34,226 recoveries on February 22, 2022, taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients since the beginning of the pandemic tp 4,21,89,887 on February 23, 2022. India’s recovery rate (RR) improved to 98.42% on February 23 from 98.38% on February 22, 2022, according to Union Health Ministry figure.

India’s Active Caseload was 1,64,522 on February 23, 2022, a further drop of 16,553 in last 24 hours. Active cases constituted 0.38% of the country’s total Positive Cases.

The last 24 hours saw a total of 11,83,438 sample tests being conducted in India. India has so far conducted over 76.24 Crore (76,24,14,018) cumulative tests. The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country was 1.80% on February 23, 2022, while the Daily Positivity rate was 1.28%.

Meanwhile, with the administration of more than 33.84 lakh (33,84,744) vaccine doses in last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 176.19 Crore (1,76,19,39,020) as per provisional reports till 7 am on February 23, 2022.
