New Delhi : India reported only 14,148 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, down from 15,102 cases on February 23, 2022, taking the tally of cases recorded since the outbreak of the pandemic to 4,28,81,179 at 8 am on February 24, 2022. India though recorded 302 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours, up from 278 deaths on February 23, taking the toll to 5,12,924 in the country on February 25, 2022.
A total of 30,009 Covid-19 patients, on the other hand, recovered in last 24 hours, down from 31,377 recoveries on February 23, taking the cumulative tally of recovered patients since the beginning of the pandemic to 4,22,19,896 on February 24, 2022. India’s recovery rate (RR) improved to 98.46% on February 24 from 98.42% on February 23, 2022.
India’s Active Caseload was 1,48,359 on February 24, 2022, a decline of 16,163 in last 24 hours. Active cases constituted 0.35% of the country’s total Positive Cases on February 24, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
The last 24 hours saw a total of 11,55,147 sample tests being conducted in the country. India has so far conducted over 76.35 Crore (76,35,69,165) sample tests. The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country was 1.60% on February 24, 2022, while the Daily Positivity rate was 1.22%.
Meanwhile, with the administration of more than 30.49 lakh (30,49,988) vaccine doses in last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 176.52 Crore (1,76,52,31,385) as per provisional reports till 7 am on February 24, 2022.
