New Delhi : India recorded 96,982 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours taking the tally of recorded so far in the country to 1,26,86,049 cases at 8 am April 6, 2021. The country had recorded 1,03,558 Covid-19 cases on April 5, 2021. On the positive side, a total of 50,143 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,17,32,279 in the country on April 6, 2021. The recovery rate (RR) of Covid-19 patients further dropped to 92.48% on April 6 from 92.80% on April 5, 2021.
The Active cases (7,88,223) on April 6, 2021, accounted for 6.21% of the total Covid-19 cases (1,26,86,049) recorded in the country, surge of 46,393 cases in last 24 hours. India has tested 25,02,31,269 samples so far including 12,11,612 samples on April 5, 2021. On the other hand, altogether 8,31,10,926 people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 so far in India including 43,00,966 beneficiaries on April 5, 2021.
The Covid-19 climbed to 1,65,547 in India on April 6, 2021, with 446 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 155 from Maharashtra, 72 in Punjab, 44 in Chhattisgarh, 32 in Karnataka, 29 in Gujarat, 15 in Madhya Pradesh, 15 in Delhi, 13 in Uttar Pradesh, 12 in Kerala, 12 in Rajasthan, 11 in Tamilnadu, 10 in Jharkhand, 8 in Haryana, 6 in Himachal Pradesh, 6 in Telengana, 5 in Andhra Pradesh, 4 in West Bengal, and 3 in Bihar. India had recorded 478 new deaths on April 5, 2021. The case fatality rate in India dropped to 1.30% on April 6, 2021, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
