New Delhi : India recorded a total of 89,129 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,23,92,260 cases in the country at 8 am on April 3, 2021.  On the other hand, a total of 44,202 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in the last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,15,69,241 on April 3, 2021. The Active cases (6,58,909) on April 3 accounted for 5.32% of the total Covid-19 cases (1,23,92,260) recorded so far in the country, a massive increase of 44,213 cases in last 24 hours.

India has tested 24,69,59,192 samples so far including 10,46,605 samples on April 2, 2021. Altogether 7,30,54,295 people have been vaccinated against  Covid-19 in the country so far including 30,93,795 beneficiaries on April 2, 2021. The recovery rate (RR) of Covid-19 patients further dropped to 93.36 % in India on April 3, 2021, from 93.68 % on April 2, 2021.

The Covid-19 toll surged to 1,64,110 in India on April 3, 2021, with an alarming 714 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 481 in Maharshtra, 57 in Punjab, 43 in Chhattisgarh, 16 in Madhya Pradesh, 16 in Uttar Pradesh, 14 in Delhi, 14 in Kerala, 12 in Tamilnadu, 11 in Gujarat, 10 in Haryana, 6 in Karnataka, 6 in Telengana, 5 in Andhra Pradesh, 5 in J&K, 4 in West Bengal, 4 in Himachal Pradesh, 2 in Bihar, and 1 in Jharkhand. India had recorded 469 new deaths on April 2, 2021. The case fatality rate dropped to 1,32 % in India on April 3, 2021.
