New Delhi : India registered 44,658 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, down from 46,164 a day before, taking the tally of cases recorded so far in the country to 3,26,03,188 at 8 am on August 27, 2021. Less than 50,000 Daily New Cases has been reported for 61 consecutive days now.
On the other hand, a total of 32,988 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in last 24 hours, down from 34,159 the day before, taking the tally to 3,18,21,428 on August 27, 2021, with the recovery rate (RR) declining to 97.60% from 97.63% on August 26, 2021.
The Active Caseload jumped to 3,44,899 on August 27, 2021, an increase of 11,174 cases in last 24 hours. Active cases accounted for 1.06% of the country’s total Positive Cases on August 27, 2021, from 1.03% on August 26,2021, registering an alarming increase.
India’s cumulative vaccination coverage crossed the 61 Crore landmark on August 26, 2021. With the administration of 79,48,439 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed the cumulative figure of 61.22 crore (61,22,08,542) as per provisional reports till 7 am on August 27, 2021. This has been achieved through 66,60,983 sessions.
The last 24 hours saw a total of 18,24,931 sample tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 51.49 crore (51,49,54,309) cumulative tests, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
The Weekly Positivity Rate at 2.10% remains less than 3% for the last 63 days now. The Daily Positivity rate was 2.45% on August 27, 2021. The daily Positivity rate has remained below 3% for the last 32 days and below 5% for 81 consecutive days now.
India recorded 496 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours, down from 607 on August 26, 2021, taking the toll to 4,36,861 in the country on August 27, 2021.
