New Delhi : India logged 43,071 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours taking the tally of cases recorded so far in the country to 3,05,45,433 at 8 am on July 4, 2021, less than 50,000 Daily New Cases for seven consecutive day.
On the other hand, a total of 52,299 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in the country in last 24 hours taking the tally to 2,96,58,078 on July 4, 2021, as recoveries continued to outnumber the Daily New Cases for 52nd consecutive day. A total of 9,228 more recoveries were reported during the last 24 hours as compared to the daily new cases. India recorded 955 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours taking the toll to 4,02,005 in the country on July 4.
India has also been witnessing a continuous fall in the active caseload. The country’s Active Caseload on July 4, 2021, was 4,85,350, a drop of 10,183 in the last 24 hours. Active cases accounted for only 1.59% of the country’s total Positive Cases on July 4, 2021.
Out of the people infected since the beginning of the pandemic, altogether 2,96,58,078 people have already recovered from Covid -19 with the recovery rate (RR) improving to 97.09% in the country on July 4, 2021, a sustained increasing trend, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
While on one side testing capacity has been enhanced across the country, a continued decline in weekly case positivity is noticed. Weekly Positivity Rate is currently at 2.44% while the Daily Positivity rate stands was 2.34% on July 4, 2021. Daily Positivity rate has remained less than 5% for 27 consecutive days now.
Meanwhile, India’s cumulative vaccination coverage crossed the landmark of 35 crore on July 3, 2021. A total of 35,12,21,306 vaccine doses have been administered through 46,04,925 sessions, as per the provisional report till 7 am on July 4, 2021. A total of 63,87,849 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.
With substantially ramped up testing capacity across the country, a total of 18,38,490 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours in the country. Cumulatively, India has conducted over 41.82 crore (41,82,54,953) tests so far.
