New Delhi : With the spike continuing at a scaring pace, a total of 2,73,810 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,50,61,919 cases at 8 am on April 19, 2021. The country had reported 2,61,500 new Covid-19 cases on April 18, 2021. On the positive side, altogether 1,44,178 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,29,53,821 on April 19, 2021. The recovery rate (RR) of Covid-19 patients further dropped to 86% on April 19 from 86.62 % on April 18, 2021.
Active cases (19,29,329) on April 19, 2021, accounted for 12.81% of the total Covid-19 cases ( 1,50,61,919) recorded so far in the country, a massive increase of 1,28,013 cases in last 24 hours. India has recorded 26,78,94,549 samples so far including 13,56,133 samples samples on April 18, 2021. On the other hand, 12,38,52,566 people have so far been vaccinated against Covid-19 in India including 12,30,007 beneficiaries on April 18, 2021, according to Union Health Ministry figure..
The Covid-19 toll jumped to 1,78,769 in India on April 19, 2021, with 1,619 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 503 in Maharashtra, 170 in Chhattisgarh, 161 in Delhi, 127 in Uttar Pradesh, 110 in Gujarat, 81 in Karnataka, 68 in Punjab, 66 in Madhya Pradesh, 50 in Jharkhand, 42 in Rajasthan, 42 in Tamilnadu, 29 in Haryana, 28 in West Bengal, 27 in Bihar, 25 in Kerala, 22 in Andhra Pradesh, 14 in Telengana, 12 in Uttarakhand, and 10 in Himachal Pradesh. India had reported 1,501 new deaths on April 18, 2021. The case fatality rate was 1.19 % in India on April 19, 2021.
